Hog Bristle
The United States imported 19,671 kilograms of hog bristle in March 2021, compared to 1,204 kilograms imported in March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, 36,834 kilograms of hog bristle were imported, up 19 percent from 31,048 kilograms for the first three months of 2020.
China sent 36,829 kilograms of hog bristle to the United States during the first three months of 2021.
The average price per kilogram for March 2021 was $49.09, up 17 percent from the average price per kilogram for March 2020 of $41.81. During the first three months of 2021, the average price per kilogram was $49.78, up 102 percent from $24.70 for the first three months of 2020.
Broom And Mop Handles
The import total of broom and mop handles during March 2021 was 1.6 million, up 69 percent from 943,967 for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, 4 million broom and mop handles were imported, up 21 percent from 3.3 million for the first three months of 2020.
During the first three months of 2021, the United States received 2.1 million broom and mop handles from Honduras, 876,680 from Brazil and 820,571 from China.
The average price per handle for March 2021 was 56 cents, down 26 percent from 76 cents for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, the average price per handle was 62 cents, down 15 percent from 73 cents for the first three months of 2020.
Brush Backs
March 2021 imports of brush backs totaled 339,562, up 39 percent from 243,855 for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, 1.1 million brush backs were imported, up 33 percent from 825,715 for the first three months of 2020.
Sri Lanka exported 321,840 brush backs during the first three months of 2021, while Canada sent 269,782 and Indonesia shipped 247,852.
The average price per brush back was 51 cents during March 2021, down 4 percent from 53 cents for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, the average price was 48 cents, down 8 percent from 52 cents for the first three months of 2020.
Metal Handles
The import total of metal handles during March 2021 was 2.3 million, up 109 percent from 1.1 million for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, 5.4 million metal handles were imported, up 50 percent from 3.6 million for the first three months of 2020.
During the first three months of 2021, China sent 3.2 million metal handles to the United States, while Italy exported 1.3 million and Spain sent 774,960.
The average price per handle for March 2021 was 84 cents, down 9 percent
from 92 cents for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, the average price per handle was 89 cents, down 9 percent from 98 cents for the first three months of 2020.

Brooms Of Broom Corn Valued At More Than 96 Cents
The United States imported 379,574 brooms of broom corn valued at more than 96 cents per broom during March 2021, down 23 percent from 494,707 for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, 1 million brooms were imported, down 23 percent from 1.3 million for the first three months of 2020.
Mexico sent nearly all the brooms to the United States during the first three months of 2021.
The average price per broom for March 2021 was $2.23, down 5 percent from $2.35 for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, the average price per broom was $2.18, down 7 percent from $2.34 for the first three months of 2020.
Brooms & Brushes Of Vegetable Material
The import total of brooms and brushes of vegetable material during March 2021 was 148,768, down 38 percent from 240,564 brooms and brushes imported during March 2020. For the first three months of 2021, 596,178 brooms and brushes were imported, up 2 percent from 585,698 for the first three months of 2020.
During the first three months of 2021, Sri Lanka exported 418,134 brooms and brushes to the United States.
The average price per unit for March 2021 was $1.23, up 3 percent from $1.19 for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, the average price per unit was $1.03, down 8 percent from $1.12 for the first three months of 2020.
Toothbrushes
The United States imported 73.2 million toothbrushes in March 2021, up 69 percent from 43.2 million imported in March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, 201.9 million toothbrushes were imported, down 9 percent from 221 million for the first three months of 2020.
China sent 155.2 million toothbrushes to the United States during the first three months of 2021.
The average price per toothbrush for March 2021 was 27 cents, down 23 percent from 35 cents for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, the average price per toothbrush was 29 cents, up 12 percent from 26 cents for the first three months of 2020.
Hairbrushes
March 2021 imports of hairbrushes totaled 3.8 million, compared to 401,740 for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, 14.7 million hairbrushes were imported, up 71 percent from 8.6 million for the first three months of 2020.
China sent 12.5 million hairbrushes to the United States during the first three months of 2021, while Mexico exported 2 million.
The average price per hairbrush was 23 cents during March 2021, down 15 percent from 27 cents for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, the average price per hairbrush was 21 cents, down 16 percent from 25 cents for the first three months of 2020.
Shaving Brushes
The United States imported 8.8 million shaving brushes in March 2021, compared to 1.1 million imported in March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, 14.5 million shaving brushes were imported, down 17 percent from 17.5 million for the first three months of 2020.
China sent 11.2 million shaving brushes to the United States during the first three months of 2021.
The average price per shaving brush for March 2021 was 11 cents, down 35 percent from 17 cents for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, the average price per brush was 13 cents, up 44 percent from 9 cents for the first three months of 2020.
Paint Rollers
The import total of paint rollers during March 2021 was 9.6 million, up 129 percent from 4.2 million for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, 26.4 million paint rollers were imported, up 62 percent from 16.3 million for the first three months of 2020.
China sent 19.4 million paint rollers to the United States during the first three months of 2021.
The average price per paint roller for March 2021 was 46 cents, up 15 percent from 40 cents for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, the average price per paint roller was also 46 cents, up 5 percent from 44 cents for the first three months of 2020.
Paintbrushes
U.S. companies imported 36.2 million paintbrushes during March 2021, up 255 percent from 10.2 million for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, 89.8 million paintbrushes were imported, up 84 percent from 48.8 million for the first three months of 2020.
China shipped 85.3 million paintbrushes to the United States during the first three months of 2021.
The average price per paintbrush for March 2021 was 33 cents, down 21 percent from 42 cents for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, the average price per paintbrush was also 33 cents, down 1 cent from the average price for the first three months of 2020.
Upright Brooms
The total import of upright brooms for March 2021 was 2.3 million, compared to 419,706 for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, 5.4 million upright brooms were imported, up 23 percent from 4.4 million for the first three months of 2020.
China sent 4.7 million upright brooms to the United States during the first three months of 2021.
The average price per broom for March 2021 was $1.09, down 42 percent from $1.87 for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, the average price per broom was $1.25, down 2 percent from $1.28 for the first three months of 2020.

Brooms & Brushes Of Vegetable Materials
The United States exported 18,629 dozen brooms and brushes of vegetable materials during March 2021, compared to 4,857 dozen for March 2020. For the first three months of 2021, 26,582 dozen brooms and brushes were exported, up 56 percent from 17,028 dozen for the first three months of 2020.
The United States sent 12,133 dozen brooms and brushes to Canada during the first three months of 2021.
The average price per dozen brooms and brushes was $31.48 in March 2021, down 24 percent from $41.31 for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, the average price per dozen brooms and brushes was $38.33, down 9 percent from $41.97 per dozen for the first three months of 2020.
Toothbrushes
During March 2021, the United States exported 8.9 million toothbrushes, down 20 percent from 11.1 million for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, 22.4 million toothbrushes were exported, down 40 percent from 37.4 million for the first three months of 2020.
The United States exported 3.9 million toothbrushes to Canada, 3.7 million to Mexico, and 3.6 million to China during the first three months of 2021.
The average price per toothbrush for March 2021 was 71 cents, down 10 percent from 79 cents for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, the average price per brush was 75 cents, up 3 percent from 73 cents for the first three months of 2020.
Shaving Brushes
The United States exported 1.4 million shaving brushes during March 2021, up 8 percent from 1.3 million for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, 4.2 million shaving brushes were exported, down 2 percent from 4.3 million for the first three months of 2020.
During the first three months of 2021, the United States exported 2.5 million shaving brushes to Mexico.
The average price per shaving brush for March 2021 was 81 cents, down 26 percent from $1.10 for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, the average price per shaving brush was 83 cents, down 18 percent from $1.01 for the first three months of 2020.
Artist Brushes

Canada received 1.2 million artist brushes from the United States during the first three months of 2021.

Paintbrushes
The export total of paintbrushes during March 2021 was 168,607, up 21 percent from 138,987 for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, 445,269 paintbrushes were exported, up 4 percent from 426,960 for the first three
months of 2020.
Canada imported 222,162 paintbrushes from the United States during the first three months of 2021.
The average price per paintbrush for March 2021 was $9.36, up 17 percent from $8.02 for March 2020. During the first three months of 2021, the average price per paintbrush was $8.92, up 14 percent from $7.80 for the first three months of 2020.
